I recently completed the Everest Base Camp trek with Everest Trekking Company, and honestly, I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the moment I stepped off the plane in Kathmandu until the moment I returned, the entire experience was seamless, professional, supportive, and genuinely memorable. As a solo traveller and an older solo traveller, trust and safety were extremely important to me. From day one, my guide Amar immediately put me at ease. He met me at the airport with a friendly smile, brought me directly to my hotel, ensured I was checked in properly, explained the schedule clearly, and personally brought me to the pre-trek meeting later that day. Every single day he checked in on me constantly, making sure I was drinking enough water, eating properly, carrying the correct gear in my day pack, and dressed appropriately for the weather and altitude conditions. He monitored my oxygen levels daily, but more importantly, he listened to my body and symptoms as a whole: sleep, heart rate, energy levels, headaches, stomach symptoms, and overall recovery. I really appreciated this balanced approach because it showed true experience and understanding of altitude, not just relying on numbers alone. At one point I experienced a slight headache and some mild stomach cramps from the altitude. Amar immediately adjusted the pace, increased electrolytes, monitored my recovery closely, and ensured I acclimatised correctly. Thanks to his knowledge and support, I completed the trek without needing altitude medication, which I was delighted about. What also stood out was how knowledgeable he was about the entire region. Along the trail he explained the culture, monasteries, wildlife, plants, valleys, suspension bridges, mountain peaks, villages, and daily elevations. Every day felt like both an adventure and an education. His passion for the mountains and respect for the region really added to the whole experience. One moment I will never forget was waiting for the clouds to clear so I could see the summit of Everest. Amar encouraged us to wait a little longer, trusting his experience of the mountain weather. Around 10 to 15 minutes later, the clouds opened and there it was. The next morning it was fully clouded over, and we would not have seen it at all if it had not been for his patience and local knowledge. 10 out of 10 experience from start to finish. I had the most amazing trekking experience with Everest Trekking Company, especially thanks to our guide Amar, who patiently guided us through the entire experience, and our porter Dawa who safely carried our bags from one teahouse to another. Without both of them our trekking would not have been possible. Even though we did the trekking during the end of May, meaning off-season, we got the best views, no people on the trek but just enough in the teahouses to socialise which was perfect. About the administration, I especially appreciate that I was able to book the trekking on such short notice, meaning ten days before start, without running into any problems. From the booking till the farewell dinner everything was perfectly organised and carried out. Our guide always made sure and took his time to get us to a place where we surely make it to our destination, base camp, and beyond by also taking me to Kala Patthar which turned out to be one of my favourite things about the trekking. I did the standard 14 day EBC trek with Everest Trekking Company. Our guide was Amar who went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable, happy and safe. A couple of people on our trip got sick on the trek and Amar arranged for them to get a horse and stayed behind to make sure they were ok. He was very patient during the entire trek and also arranged a helicopter for members of our group when the weather was not good in Lukla. Definitely have at least two buffer days as weather was definitely an issue for our flights. We were all pleasantly surprised that the accommodation on the trek was much nicer than we expected.

We have just returned from an amazing trek to EBC with Everest Trekking Company. Our trek far exceeded our expectations with exceptional guides Amar and Dipesh, ably supported by a cheerful group of porters Bikash, Dawa, Pasang and Anil. Huge respect and appreciation for these guys who collected our duffels early each morning and got them to our next stop each day! Amar, the main guide, is a consummate professional sharing his love and passion of the mountains and Nepal with us during the trek. Nothing was a hassle and his ability to organise and sort out issues along the way was outstanding — one of us needed a horse, no problem! When any of us had a tough night due to occasional illness, Amar and Dipesh were there to support us with empathy, medication, and often carried our backpacks the next day to allow us to recover and continue the trek. From my perspective it was the small touches like being provided with a hot water bottle when you are feeling awful that showed that these guys will go the extra mile to help you enjoy your trek. Dipesh set the pace of the trek from the front, ensured frequent stops, encouragement to drink water, water filtration several times a day as well as endless encouragement each day. We had clear sunny blue skies for 10 of 12 days allowing us to experience the majesty of the Himalayas, spectacular valleys and rivers, many suspension bridges and lots of steps! Food and accommodation were above expectations, and we had a lovely surprise with accommodation in Namche!

His positive attitude never changed, even on the hardest days of the trek. When I started experiencing symptoms of altitude sickness, Amar’s experience helped me stay calm and trust the process. On the days when I felt particularly unwell, both Amar and Dawa went above and beyond to support me. Amar even carried my backpack when I was struggling. Without their help, I honestly don’t think I would have been able to continue. One of the most touching moments of the entire trek happened on my 40th birthday in Dingboche, at over 4,400 meters above sea level. Amar and Dawa somehow managed to organise a birthday cake in such a remote place and turned that day into one of the most memorable birthdays of my life. What made it even more special was how they brought everyone together to celebrate. It was an act of kindness and generosity that I will never forget. The most challenging day came when we trekked to Everest Base Camp. The night before, my husband and I slept only about two hours and were both feeling very unwell. After Dawa had carried our duffel bags to Gorakshep, instead of stopping there he continued all the way to Everest Base Camp with us. He carried my backpack, held my hand through difficult sections, encouraged me when I was struggling, and helped me keep moving forward. There were moments when I truly felt that without his support, I would not have reached Base Camp. At the same time, Amar stayed by my husband’s side throughout the entire day, constantly monitoring him, encouraging him, and making sure he was safe. Reaching Everest Base Camp was one of the greatest achievements of our lives. Amar and Dawa were a huge part of that accomplishment. I went in a group of 7 to EBC with Sagar as our guide, Anish as our assistant guide and Sonam as our senior porter. They all did a fantastic job at making sure we had a fun and successful trip, and were very helpful along the entire way. They had clear communication on our plans for the day, recommended what to do and not to do in terms of what to wear, what to eat, and how to recover. If anyone was wanting to do EBC I would highly recommend going with Sagar, Anish and Sonam.

Amazing trip and I can strongly recommend using Everest Trekking Company for a trip in the Nepalese mountains. The company was very responsive, making changes to the plan last minute at our request and very flexible when we asked to add Gokyo to the Everest Base Camp trek. Everything in Kathmandu and in the mountains was made very easy for us. In the mountains the trip was amazing. The views were spectacular, the lodges we stayed in better than we expected, and generally ran very smoothly. Anish was my guide and superhero. He was fun and knowledgeable, very experienced and always made sure we were safe and taken care of. He was a delight to spend 2 weeks with and everyone should trek with Anish. Bimal was our porter who always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. My 8 day Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return was a truly memorable experience. From start to finish, the views were absolutely mesmerizing and something no photo can fully capture. Every single day felt like a reward, with spectacular scenery surrounding us throughout the journey. A special mention to our guide, Susam, who was simply fantastic throughout the trip. He made sure every member of the group felt included, supported, and cared for. Nobody was ever left behind or made to feel like they were slowing the group down, which was especially important for me as this was my very first high altitude trek. Coming from sea level, the altitude was honestly one of the toughest parts of the journey. Once we passed around 3,800m, every step became more challenging and breathing was noticeably harder. However, the team managed the pace extremely well, moving slowly, taking regular breaks, and making sure everyone could cope safely with the conditions. The accommodation at the tea houses was the best possible available at each location. Naturally, facilities become more basic the higher you go, but that is completely understandable considering how remote these mountain villages are and how difficult it is to transport supplies there. Rather than seeing it as a negative, it became part of the experience and gave me a deeper appreciation for life in the Himalayas. The helicopter return was the perfect ending to the trek. This trip challenged me physically and mentally, but it was absolutely worth every moment. Highly recommended for anyone considering Everest Base Camp, especially first time trekkers looking for a safe, supportive, and well organized experience.

This was a definite adventure experience and was truly incredible. Everest Trekking Company has thought out every detail. From the moment I arrived at the Kathmandu airport there was someone there in person to help guide you and answer any questions. I was taken to the Everest Trekking Company office and introduced to my guide Amar, from there it was off to a nice hotel in Thamel Kathmandu. Amar was awesome, along with our amazing porter Bimal. The hike to base camp was beautiful and takes you through quaint little mountain towns with good accommodation, especially considering how remote it is and everything is carried in on someone’s back or by helicopter. Base camp itself looked absolutely otherworldly. You will feel tiny in the presence of the mountains, in the best way. We were a group of 18 adults with an average age of around 55, some for the full EBC trek and a few for a shortened version. Planning started almost a year ago with the Everest Trekking Company team, who were most patient with our queries and doubts. Our entire trip was meticulously planned and executed. Almost everything was on schedule. We had wonderful guides and almost everyone had a personal porter. I was lucky to have been assigned Sagar as my assistant. I am almost 65 and had some difficulty keeping up with the rest of the group, but Sagar pushed and encouraged me at every point. Without his support I would not have completed the trek on foot. My group did EBC plus Cho La Pass and Gokyo Lake for 12 days. We were guided by Sagar, who is very knowledgeable on the trek and mountains and very attentive to our needs. We felt safe with Sagar, he always believed in us and encouraged us. We were willing to push on even though we were exhausted because we too believed in ourselves that we could do it! Sagar is patient with our queries and the daily briefing helped to mentally prepare us on what to expect every day. My recent Everest Base Camp luxury trek was an experience of a lifetime. From the moment I arrived in Kathmandu to the day I returned, everything was well organised. We used helicopters to and from Lukla for more reliability. We stopped at Phakding, Namche, Pangboche and Dingboche for acclimatization. Our lead guide Pemba was an invaluable asset throughout the trek. His knowledge of the region, his passion for mountaineering, and his genuine care for our wellbeing made all the difference. He was assisted by Anish and Rajan, and our porters Gyan and Dil. The Yeti Mountain Home lodges offered comfortable and clean accommodations. The highlight was our stay at the Everest View Hotel with remarkable views of Everest. The trek is very challenging, but the sense of accomplishment upon reaching Base Camp was immense. The views of the surrounding peaks including Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Kangtega and Thamserku made the entire journey worthwhile. The team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and safety. Our return included a helicopter with stops at Kala Patthar and Gokyo Lake. I highly recommend Everest Trekking Company.

One of my best adventure holidays ever! Kiran, my guide from Everest Trekking Company, was a big help in creating a memory of a lifetime. I was only able to plan this trip last minute and Everest Trekking Company were willing to help me with a solo trek right away. The next day I flew to Kathmandu and they were kind enough to also create a memorable mini trek for my girlfriend who joined us for 5 days. The dry cold climate meant fewer tourists and clearer views. Everest Base Camp is a great place to visit and one of my most memorable moments was simply sitting by the glacier and soaking in the 360 degree view of being surrounded by the Himalayas on all sides. Kala Patthar for me was the special highlight — a notoriously difficult trek with really windy conditions, high altitude at 5600m and a steep final 30 minutes of climbing. More than half of those who attempt it give up completely. We were able to finish it and it was the most extraordinary few minutes of my life. A special word for Kiran who helped me build a memory of a lifetime. He knew so much about almost everything — local culture, wildlife, history, altitude management. He was instrumental in planning our ambitious EBC and Kala Patthar day, and also gave countless practical tips on navigating the cold, discovering amazing local Nepali food, and connecting with other travellers. Go do it. Kiran is a great guide and can help plan a trek customised to your level and comfort.

To those who are looking for a guide in Nepal, I assure you, you will not regret having Everest Trekking Company be part of your Nepal adventure. The best travel choice I ever made was to trek to Everest Base Camp. Everything was handled with ease including travel and lodging. Karma our guide was well-versed in the area, shared stories about Sherpa culture, and kept a constant eye on our wellbeing. The trek moved at the ideal speed, allowing plenty of time for acclimatization without feeling hurried. Our bags were carried by the porters with amazing strength, and they always greeted us with a smile. I valued the team's efforts to make sure we were comfortable at every stage. It was a fun, safe and well-planned excursion. I would gladly go trekking with them once more.

It is difficult to choose a favourite part of this trek because the whole experience was spectacular from start to finish. However the views from the top of Lobuche East on a clear morning were simply unbeatable. The team that Everest Trekking Company put together was attentive and anticipated every need. They were able to adjust and accommodate any contingencies that arose along the way. Our guides Som and Ram were outstanding throughout the entire climb and trek. This is my second expedition with Everest Trekking Company and I would not hesitate to book with them again. I would recommend them to anyone regardless of skill level.

We booked the Everest Base Camp trek returning by helicopter in the month of November. We did book just two weeks before the date of travel. Everything was managed smoothly. Trekking up to Everest Base Camp was a challenging trek, but it was immensely satisfying and beyond my expectations. I had excellent communication with the Everest Trekking Company team who organised the EBC trek and itinerary. I had an excellent trekking guide named Nima, who looked after me throughout the trek. He kept me informed about the trekking distance to be covered, height to be ascended and altitude to be reached daily, keeping me safe throughout. I was so nervous about this trip! I booked as a solo female traveller, not knowing anyone on the trip or staff, and was determined to do Island Peak. Not only was I looking for a top notch experience, but I wanted to ensure proper safety precautions and know that my money was supporting a local company and local guides. From the beginning I knew I was in good hands with Everest Trekking Company. I want to extend a massive thank you to Binod (our fantastic guide) who got us safely to Base Camp and the summit of Island Peak. If you have the ability, make sure to request him and Sauman too — they absolutely made my experience. They go above and beyond to explain the significance of their culture and food, and will even give you some language lessons if you are keen.
